An article about the origin of the Lifeboat service and
the founding of the RNLI, published in the book
The Lasting Victories, pages 116-120.
The book is an anthology of essays by some forty writers about
Warriors. These Warriors, however are not those
who battled against the enemies of the State, but who fought for
good in other ways and left the world a better place. Presumably
they are intended as examples for post-war youth.
Contributors include Peter Scott, Malcolm Campbell, Alexander Fleming and Theo A Stephens.
