Friend and work associate of Malcolm Saville.
The second Buckingham book, The Buckinghams at Ravenswyke, published in 1952
is dedicated to 'Theo A Stephens OBE
who came to Whitby, too.'
Theo Stephens founded the luxury magazine My Garden in 1934.
Malcolm Saville contributed to the magazine, and eventually became its Associate
editor in 1946, remaining in this post until its sad demise in 1951.
The founding of his first magazine in Yorkshire, and then the beginnings
of My Garden are briefly described in Stephens' article A Dream Come True,
published by Lutterworth in 1948 in the anthology The Lasting Victories.
After the magazine folded, Theo Stephens wrote regular articles for the Sunday Times.
Some of these were later collected and published as My Garden (Faber and Faber 1958).
