A Michael and Mary series short story, with illustrations, in The Wonder Book for Children.

A return to Townsend Farm for Mary and Michael Bishop, a year after their stay there told in 'Trouble at Townsend'.

The short story is on pages 17 to 37 inclusive. There are twenty b/w pen illustrations and the colour frontispiece of the book (seen here).

The page size is 250x180mm (10x7 inches) so the illustrations are beautifully large.
The book cntains some 43 pieces by various authors and uses many illustrators including Lilian Buchanan Terry Freeman, Marceline (sic) Lane-Foster, Pauline Baynes etc.
